The challenge was to create a house for a couple of creative and young professionals. The house is in of the one colonial areas of the island of Margarita, Venezuela.
One of the passions of both of them is the kitchen. They had studied cooking in Paris, but they miss the unique Venezuelan flavor; so they came back to establish themselves in Margarita. On the weekends they cook for a small group of guests in their own home. So the edification has to function primarily as a home, but still works for the clandestine restaurant.

On the weekends they cook for a small group of guests in their own home. So the edification has to function primarily as a home, but still works for the clandestine restaurant.
Because of the location the front has to follows the basics of the Venezuelan colonial architecture..
The house has two stories: the ground floor holds the social areas and kitchen, and the second floor the intimate and rest areas.
When the clients enter the house, they would find the living room with the wallpaper Damasco Mural (collection Silk Road) installed in moving panels; matched with the wallpaper Mayolica (collection Journeys). This was the starting point to provide the house with color and mood. We would find colors as mustard, light grays, beige and teal.
Behind the moving panels we would find the kitchen, where they would create wonderful dishes and share their cooking skills. At the right we would find a window that can be used to serve the dishes by the waiters directly to the patio’s dinning table.
The patio would have a big, twelve guest table, under a magically lighted pergola, remembering eating in a Parisian terrace. It would also have a green wall that would contain herbs and spices, so they can cook with the freshest ingredients.
At the left of the ground floor, they would find the stairs to go to the second floor. It has some closets and drawers finished in lacquered glass in color teal what would blend perfectly the Damasco Mural with the Mayolica wallpaper in teal colors (collection Journeys), that goes all the way up.
As the Caribbean Sea water, this teal color combined with white as the sea foam; would go to the second floor. These colors would remember them the best Venezuelan beaches.
In the second floor they would find the master suite with a white bed that would stand out the wallpaper
Taraz Mural (collection Silk Road) that would recall the other venezuelan beauties, the rain forest. From this wallpaper teal, aquamarine and blue shades would travel along the suite, and would blend with the wallpaper Musas (collection Journeys) from the sinks.
All of these wallpapers and space planning resulted in spaces with a chic, clean, fresh and elegant vibe.
Always thinking about functionality without compromising the aesthetics.
